The FDR ES drops into the existing Bucky stand or holder with no room modification. SmartSwitch automatically detects the X-ray exposure and initiates image acquisition without a cable connection to the generator. Images appear on Console Advance within seconds for immediate review, and are routed to PACS automatically. Total two-exposure exam time is as low as 10 seconds.

With Console Advance (mobile version), the FDR ES converts existing analogue mobile X-ray units to full digital radiography capability. The detector wirelessly connects to the mobile console, images are reviewed at the point of care, and data is transferred to PACS. No new mobile X-ray unit purchase is required for facilities with capable analogue generators.

The technologist selects the Virtual Grid ratio (1:1, 6:1, 8:1, or 20:1) appropriate to the examination. Virtual Grid software then predicts and corrects for scatter radiation effects, eliminating the need to physically insert or remove an anti-scatter grid between examinations. Dynamic Visualization II (optional) applies body-part-specific contrast and density optimization automatically.

One-handed battery replacement takes seconds, and the detector is ready to image within 30 seconds of battery insertion. Automatic sleep mode reduces battery drain during idle periods between patients.
