The 2026 Imaging Equipment Price Index sets out what a CT, MRI, PET/CT, DEXA, X-ray, C-arm, ultrasound or mammography system costs in 2026, new and refurbished, delivered, installed and warrantied, in one place. The ranges are the all-in figures Medical Outfitters publishes in its equipment cost guides, reviewed in September and October 2026, arranged by class so that a buyer, a journalist or a planner can compare modalities side by side and cite one source.
Published 12 October 2026. Next scheduled review January 2027. Figures are Medical Outfitters all-in ranges for a system delivered, installed and warrantied; the review date of each modality is printed in its section. Compiled by the Medical Outfitters sales and field engineering team.

How to Read the Index, and How to Cite It
What the numbers are. Every range is an all-in figure: the system, delivery, rigging into the room, installation and calibration, applications training and a written warranty, as Medical Outfitters quotes it. Headline prices published elsewhere are usually for the equipment alone, before delivery, installation and current tariffs, which is why these ranges sit above them. Site work (shielding, electrical, HVAC, construction) is quoted per project and is not in the ranges.
Where they come from. The ranges are the class bands published in Medical Outfitters’ ten equipment cost guides, which draw on the configurations the company has sold or sourced in 2026 for hospitals and imaging centers in Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, checked against current quotes, tariffs and the used market. Refurbished ranges are MO Select systems (GE and Siemens) or systems sourced and rebuilt on request (Philips, Canon, Hitachi, Hologic); new ranges are the brands Medical Outfitters sells new (Fujifilm, Planmed, Esaote, DMS, Orthoscan, Koning, Mammotome, Ziehm) or, where marked in the guides, estimates through the manufacturer for comparison. No government purchase award is used as a source.
How it is maintained. Each guide carries its own review date; the Index is re-issued each January and reviewed at least quarterly in between. Changes are logged in the guides’ review stamps. This page is the edition of record; the PDF edition carries the same figures and is sent by email on request.

Gamma Detection (Neoprobe) Configurations, 2026
The Neoprobe gamma detection system has no class bands because it is quoted as a configuration; the Neoprobe cost and buying guide prints the Medical Outfitters ranges per configuration: a complete new system (console, one Bluetooth probe and cart) at $85,000 to $145,000, each additional 10 mm or 14 mm Bluetooth probe at $22,000 to $33,000, and a two-room program at $160,000 to $265,000, delivered with applications training and the manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the 2026 Imaging Equipment Price Index?
- A free reference that puts Medical Outfitters' published 2026 all-in price ranges for CT, MRI, PET/CT, DEXA, X-ray, C-arm, ultrasound and mammography systems side by side, new and refurbished, by class, with one chart per modality, a citation and a PDF edition sent by email on request.
- Are these equipment-only prices?
- No. Every range is for a system delivered, installed, with applications training and a warranty, which is why the figures sit above the equipment-only numbers published elsewhere. The CT scanner guide shows the gap class by class.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- From the ten equipment cost guides Medical Outfitters publishes, which draw on the configurations the company has sold or sourced in 2026 and are reviewed against current quotes, tariffs and the used market. No government purchase records are used.
- How often is the Index updated?
- The Index is reviewed at least quarterly and re-issued each January with the year in its title; the review date is printed under each modality. The page and the PDF carry the same figures.
- Can I cite or republish the charts?
- Yes. Each chart carries an embed code that credits the Index and links to the matching guide; the citation box gives the reference format. Republishing the tables in full needs a link back to this page.
- Does the Index give a price for a specific model?
- The modality guides do: each lists the models in each class with their own ranges. The Index is the class-level summary; use it for budgeting and go to the guide for the model.
Price a Specific System
The Index is the planning number. For a specific model, year and configuration, delivered to your address, request a written quote; it takes a day. To see what is available now, browse MRI machines for sale, CT scanners for sale and X-ray machines for sale.
