Endoscopy Equipment Cost Guide (2026): Bronchoscopes, Duodenoscopes, Colonoscopes, Processors and Towers

Published 2 November 2026. The dollar figures on this page are estimates from public list-price reporting, published costing studies and secondary-market data for 2025 and 2026, printed for comparison only, not Medical Outfitters prices; the Fujifilm systems Medical Outfitters sells new are quoted on request. Specifications are Fujifilm’s published figures and the live Medical Outfitters product pages, with regulatory dates from FDA records. Written by the Medical Outfitters sales and field engineering team.

Quick answer: Endoscopy equipment costs an estimated $3,000 to $20,000 for a refurbished video bronchoscope, gastroscope or colonoscope and $12,000 to $40,000 new, an estimated $30,000 to $60,000 for a new video processor and light source, and $45,000 to $110,000 for a complete endoscopy tower with a 4K monitor and cart, all comparison estimates; the Fujifilm scopes, processors and CAD EYE that Medical Outfitters sells new are quoted on request.

Endoscopy equipment cost in 2026: a reusable video bronchoscope, gastroscope or colonoscope is estimated at $12,000 to $40,000 new and $3,000 to $20,000 refurbished, a video processor and light source at $30,000 to $60,000 new, and an endoscopy tower with a 4K monitor and cart at $45,000 to $110,000 new, comparison only. This page prints no Medical Outfitters band: endoscopy is quoted per configuration, so every figure is an estimate from public list-price reporting, published costing studies and secondary-market data for 2025 and 2026, rounded for comparison. The Fujifilm bronchoscopes, duodenoscopes, ELUXEO processors and CAD EYE are sold new by Medical Outfitters as an authorized Fujifilm endoscopy supplier and quoted on request; pre-owned scopes and towers are sourced refurbished on request.

Endoscopy is bought in three pieces priced separately: the scopes, which wear out and get repaired; the processor and light source, which make the image and decide which scopes connect; and the tower that carries them. This guide covers each class, the Fujifilm quote, single-use against reusable, refurbished endoscopy equipment, reprocessing and repair cost, and how to choose.

Pricing

How Much Does Endoscopy Equipment Cost? Prices by Class (2026)

An endoscopy equipment cost is three purchases, each quoted on its own line: the scopes, the processor with its light source, and the tower (monitor, cart, insufflator and recording unit), with the reprocessing room as the fourth budget most buyers forget. The table prints class estimates from public list-price reporting, published costing studies and secondary-market asking prices for 2025 and 2026, rounded to the nearest $500 below $50,000 and $5,000 above, marked comparison only; none is a Medical Outfitters offer. Endoscopy equipment cost in 2026 by class: estimates for comparison only, derived from public list-price reporting, published costing studies and secondary-market data; the Fujifilm lines Medical Outfitters sells new are quoted on request.

The same question arrives as endoscopy equipment price, endoscopy equipment cost, endoscopy machine price, endoscopy machine cost, endoscopy tower price and endoscopy tower cost, and the table answers all of them: an endoscopy machine is the processor and light source, a tower adds the monitor and cart, and the scopes are bought by type on top. A bronchoscope price or a colonoscope price quoted alone is the scope only; a compatible processor is the first thing to check on any used endoscope price.

Bronchoscopes

Bronchoscope Price (2026): Video Bronchoscopes, EBUS and the Fujifilm 580 and 530 Series

A bronchoscope price depends on the channel first and the generation second. A standard video bronchoscope with a 2.0 to 2.2 mm channel does diagnostic work, lavage and brushing; a therapeutic scope with a 2.8 or 3.2 mm channel takes larger accessories; a slim scope reaches narrow and pediatric airways; and an EBUS bronchoscope carries an ultrasound array at its tip and needs its own ultrasound processor, a class of its own. The estimates are for reusable video bronchoscopes, comparison only; a video bronchoscope price from Medical Outfitters for the Fujifilm scopes is quoted on request.

Bronchoscope typeWhat it is, with the Fujifilm scope in the classNew, estimated (comparison only)Refurbished, estimated (comparison only)
Standard video bronchoscope (2.0 to 2.2 mm channel)Diagnostic work, lavage and brushing; the Fujifilm EB-580S (5.3 mm distal end, 2.2 mm channel, 210 degree bending), EB-530S and EB-530HEstimated at $12,000 to $25,000, comparison onlyEstimated at $5,000 to $15,000, comparison only

Fujifilm bronchoscope price: the 580 and 530 series, quoted on request

The Fujifilm bronchoscope price is quoted on request because Medical Outfitters sells the scopes new as an authorized Fujifilm endoscopy supplier and each quote is built around the processor the scope will run on. The Fujifilm bronchoscope system page lists the range: the EB-580S standard scope with a Super CCD, close focus to 2 mm, a 5.3 mm distal end, a 2.2 mm channel and 210 degrees of upward bending; the EB-580T treatment scope with a 2.8 mm channel and a laser blocking filter; the 530 series, whose S, T and H models received FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2012; and the EB-530US ultrasonic bronchoscope with the SU-1 processor. LCI, BLI and BLI-bright need the VP-7000 or EP-6000, so the processor choice is part of the scope price.

What moves a bronchoscope cost inside the class: the channel size, high definition against standard definition, the processor generation, and on a used scope the angulation, the leak test and the repair history. An EBUS bronchoscope is priced as a system because the scope and the ultrasound processor are bought together.

GI Scopes

Gastroscope and Colonoscope Price (2026): Fujifilm 700 Series and the Used Market

A gastroscope price and a colonoscope price follow the same logic, with longer insertion tubes, wider channels and, on the current generation, high definition sensors with the special light modes. A standard gastroscope has a 2.8 mm channel and a 1,100 mm working length; a colonoscope a 3.2 or 3.8 mm channel and 1,330 to 1,690 mm of working length. The estimates are for reusable video scopes, comparison only.

Gastroscope price and colonoscope price by type in 2026, comparison estimates; the Fujifilm 700 series scopes are quoted on request through the Fujifilm endoscopy line.

Where the estimates come from: a 2019 micro-costing study at a US academic endoscopy unit modeled its 20 colonoscopes at $35,000 each, and public reporting puts a reusable upper GI scope between $8,000 and $40,000 by generation. The refurbished figures are current asking prices, from about $3,000 for a standard definition gastroscope of the 2000s to $15,000 to $17,500 for a current-generation scope with a warranty; a colonoscope price on the used market tops out around $15,000 for a current 760 series scope. Pre-owned GI scopes are sourced refurbished on request, and Medical Outfitters quotes the Fujifilm 700 series new: the EG-760R, EG-760Z and EG-740N gastroscopes and the EC-760R-V, EC-760P-V and EC-760ZP-V colonoscopes, which run on the ELUXEO 7000 and the new ELUXEO 8000.

A GI room needs two of each scope so that one is in reprocessing while the other works, the processor they connect to, and the CAD EYE module if the program wants real-time polyp detection; the complete GI suite row of the class table prices the three together.

Duodenoscopes

Duodenoscope Cost (2026): ERCP Scopes, the Fujifilm ED-580XT and Single-Use Duodenoscopes

A duodenoscope cost is the one endoscope price that regulation changed. The side-viewing ERCP scope carries an elevator that is hard to clean, and after outbreaks traced to reprocessed duodenoscopes the FDA asked facilities in 2019 to move to designs that make reprocessing easier or unnecessary, then in April 2022 told them to complete the transition to duodenoscopes with disposable components or to fully disposable duodenoscopes, citing a contamination rate of 0.5 percent for one removable-component design against rates as high as 6 percent on older models. Three designs now exist, at three prices.

Duodenoscope designWhat it isNew, estimated (comparison only)Refurbished, estimated (comparison only)
Reusable duodenoscope with a disposable distal end capThe current design: the Fujifilm ED-580XT (single-use DC-07D cap, sealed elevator wire, 4.2 mm channel) and the ED-580TEstimated at $30,000 to $45,000, comparison onlyEstimated at $6,000 to $13,500, comparison only

The Fujifilm ED-580T and ED-580XT video duodenoscopes are the reusable design with a disposable cap: the single-use DC-07D distal end cap comes off for brushing, the elevator wire is sealed, the G-Lock fixes the guidewire with a movement of the elevator, and the 4.2 mm channel is built for smooth device exchange. The two differ only in viewing direction, 105 degrees on the ED-580T and 95 on the ED-580XT. The ED-580XT received FDA 510(k) clearance in September 2019 and is on the FDA’s April 2022 list of duodenoscopes with disposable components. Both are sold new by Medical Outfitters and quoted on request.

Where the estimates come from: a 2019 US cost-effectiveness analysis modeled a reusable duodenoscope at $35,000 with about $1,451 a year of maintenance and repair, put it at $612 to $1,362 per ERCP by volume and reprocessing method, and found a single-use duodenoscope breaks even at $612 to about $1,300 per scope; published US figures for single-use duodenoscopes run from an expected list price of $1,400 to $1,600 to $3,000 per unit. Pre-owned duodenoscopes are sourced refurbished on request only in disposable-cap designs.

Processors

Endoscopy Processor and Light Source Price: ELUXEO 7000, ELUXEO 8000 and Refurbished Sets

An endoscopy processor price is the price of the image. The video processor turns the scope’s signal into the picture and runs the special light modes, the light source feeds the scope’s light guide, and on the newest platform the two are one unit. The processor decides which scopes connect, so it is bought first and the scopes are matched to it. The estimates are for a set without scopes, comparison only.

Endoscopy processor price by generation in 2026, comparison estimates; the Fujifilm ELUXEO 7000, the 6000 system and the ELUXEO 8000 are sold new by Medical Outfitters and quoted on request.

The Fujifilm processors Medical Outfitters sells new, quoted on request, are listed on the bronchoscope system page. The ELUXEO 7000 pairs the VP-7000 full HD processor with the BL-7000 light source, whose four LEDs are rated by Fujifilm for a six year life at an intensity equivalent to a 300 W xenon lamp; it runs BLI, BLI-bright and LCI, drives the 700, 600 and 500 series scopes, and its 7000X upgrade received FDA 510(k) clearance in June 2021. The 6000 system (EP-6000) is the alternative processor. The ELUXEO 8000, launched in the United States in October 2025, puts processor and light source in one unit (EP-8000) with 4K output, triple noise reduction, LCI, BLI and a new Amber-Red Color Imaging mode, and drives the 500 to 800 series, so a site that buys it keeps its Fujifilm scopes.

What moves an endoscopy processor price: HD against 4K, an LED light source against a xenon lamp, the imaging modes licensed, and the scope generations it drives. On the used market the 2010s HD set is the most common purchase, estimated at $5,000 to $12,000 refurbished, comparison only.

Towers

Endoscopy Tower Cost: Monitor, Cart and a Complete GI Suite

An endoscopy tower cost adds the room side of the system to the processor: a surgical monitor, a cart, insufflation, the water pump, suction, a recording unit and the cabling to a second display. The tower is where the 4K decision is made, because a 4K processor needs a 4K monitor and a 12G-SDI path to show its resolution, and where the spread between a basic room and an integrated suite is widest.

Bronchoscopy set (tower plus a standard and a therapeutic bronchoscope)A pulmonology room with two scopes, one in reprocessing while the other worksEstimated at $70,000 to $180,000, comparison onlyEstimated at $25,000 to $85,000, comparison only

Endoscopy tower price and complete suite estimates in 2026, comparison only; Medical Outfitters quotes the Fujifilm processors and the LG surgical monitors new on request, and pre-owned towers are sourced refurbished on request.

The monitor is a line of its own. Medical Outfitters sells the LG 4K surgical monitors new as an authorized LG supplier: the 31.5 inch LG 32HR734S with a full-array Mini-LED backlight, 1,500 local dimming zones, 2,000 cd/m2 peak brightness and a single 12G-SDI cable for native 4K at 60 frames a second, with DICOM Part 14 presets; the compact 27 inch LG 27HS714S with four 12G-SDI inputs; and the 27 inch LG 27HQ710S with 3G-SDI loop-through for rooms built on existing SDI routing. The peripherals category holds the rest of the display range.

Installation on a tower is lighter than on an imaging room: a standard electrical supply and a network drop, the cart set up, the processor connected to the documentation software and the team trained, all included in a Medical Outfitters tower quote; the room work, the reprocessing room and the consumables are quoted separately.

Single-Use

Single-Use Scopes vs Reusable: Cost per Procedure

Single-use scopes turn a capital purchase into a consumable, and whether that saves money depends on how many procedures a site does. A single-use bronchoscope is estimated at $250 to $600 per scope and a single-use duodenoscope at $1,400 to $3,000 per scope, comparison only; neither is sold by Medical Outfitters. On the reusable side, published studies put the full cost of using a reusable bronchoscope, capital, repair and reprocessing together, at an average of $368 per procedure across 18 studies in six countries, range $89 to $927.

  • Volume decides. A 2026 analysis of German intensive care units found a single-use bronchoscope cost 346 euros per use against 97 euros for a reusable scope, with the break-even at 317 procedures a year; a 2019 US analysis of percutaneous tracheostomy found the opposite at low volume, $249 per procedure single-use against $406 reusable.
  • Duodenoscopes are the special case. The reusable scope runs $612 to $1,362 per ERCP in the 2019 US analysis, and the FDA supports fully disposable duodenoscopes as well as disposable-component designs, so a low-volume ERCP service may buy no reusable duodenoscope at all.
  • Infection risk and downtime are in the number. Some analyses add the cost of cross-infection, which moves the break-even toward single-use, and a scope in repair for weeks is a cost no purchase price shows.
  • The display is separate. A single-use scope needs its own reusable display unit and does not connect to the tower’s processor.

The practical rule is the one the studies agree on: count the procedures. A program with a steady caseload buys reusable Fujifilm scopes new, quoted on request; a unit that scopes occasionally keeps single-use scopes on the shelf.

Refurbished

Refurbished Endoscopy Equipment: What a Sourced-on-Request Scope or Tower Costs and Includes

Refurbished endoscopy equipment is the largest part of the used medical equipment market by unit count, because scopes are repaired and resold many times. The estimates below are secondary-market asking prices for 2025 and 2026, rounded, comparison only; a refurbished endoscope price depends on the generation, the repair history and the processor it will run with more than on the badge.

Medical Outfitters sources pre-owned scopes, processors and towers refurbished on request, Olympus and Pentax units as well as Fujifilm: tell us the scope type, the channel size and the processor you run, and we find a unit, test it and quote it delivered, set up and warrantied. Medical Outfitters is not an Olympus or Pentax dealer and does not sell their systems new; every Olympus or Pentax unit we supply is pre-owned. The quote states the model, the generation, the repair history and the processor it was tested on, with a written warranty.

  • Leak tested and angulation checked against the specification, with the channels inspected by borescope.
  • Processor matched: quoted with, or tested on, a processor of its own generation.
  • Reprocessing ready: the listed valves, caps and brushes come with the scope; a duodenoscope is sourced only in a disposable-cap design.
  • Delivered, set up and warrantied across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Used endoscope checklist: what we check before a scope is priced

  • Leak test. Dry and wet, before anything else
  • Angulation. Bending angles against the specification in every direction
  • Insertion tube and bending section. Buckling, kinks, cuts and bite marks
  • Channels. A borescope look for scratches, debris and moisture, and a flow check
  • Image and light. The image sensor, the light guide output and the imaging modes
  • Valves, buttons and caps. The valves, the buttons and, on a duodenoscope, the cap design and the elevator
  • Reprocessing and repair records. The reprocessing log, culture results, repair history and procedure count
  • Processor compatibility. Which processor generation the scope connects to

The used imaging equipment inspection checklist covers the survey for every modality we sell; the refurbished imaging equipment page explains what a Medical Outfitters refurbished system includes, and refurbished versus OEM certified explains how a dealer rebuild differs from a manufacturer-refurbished unit.

What a Fujifilm Endoscopy Quote from Medical Outfitters Includes

Medical Outfitters sells Fujifilm endoscopy new as an authorized Fujifilm endoscopy supplier, and every Fujifilm endoscopy price is quoted on request: there is no list price here for the scopes, the processors or CAD EYE, because each quote is built around the processor, the scope set, the monitor and the training a site needs. The table places each Fujifilm product against its comparison class; the specifications are in the sections above and on the product pages.

The Fujifilm endoscopy products Medical Outfitters sells new, each quoted on request; the comparison class is the estimate band of this guide, not a Medical Outfitters price.

  • The system, specified: each scope by model, the processor with the imaging modes licensed, the monitor, the cart, the recording unit, and the valves, caps and brushes for the first year.
  • Delivery, set-up and applications training by our own team across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean; installation and delivery and logistics are in-house.
  • A written warranty and a service plan in the same quote, stating what a scope repair costs inside the term and whether a loaner is provided, backed by more than 20,000 parts in stock in Miami.

Tell us the procedures you run and the processor you have, and we will quote the Fujifilm scopes new, with a scope sourced refurbished on request beside them where a pre-owned unit does the same work for less; every modality we sell is priced in our radiology equipment cost table and the 2026 imaging equipment price index.

Reprocessing

Endoscope Reprocessing Cost: What It Costs to Clean a Scope

Reprocessing is the running cost that endoscopy has and imaging does not. Every reusable scope goes through bedside pre-cleaning, a leak test, manual brushing of every channel, high-level disinfection or sterilization, drying and storage before the next patient, a cost per procedure that published studies measure in the low hundreds of dollars. The table sets out the lines in words; Medical Outfitters does not publish a reprocessing price, because the cost is the facility’s own labor and chemistry.

LineWhat it coversHow it is priced
Bedside pre-cleaning and leak testWiping, flushing and the leak test at the point of useMinutes of staff time per scope
Manual cleaningBrushing every channel and port in detergentStaff time per scope, the largest share of a cycle, plus brushes and detergent
High-level disinfection or sterilizationA reprocessor cycle, or ethylene oxideConsumables and cycle time; sterilization costs several times a disinfection cycle
Automated endoscope reprocessorThe disinfection machine, usually two per unitCapital, estimated at $30,000 to $60,000 per unit, comparison only, plus chemistry and service
Drying and storageForced-air drying and a storage cabinetCapital per cabinet; published studies list cabinets at about $12,000
Inspection and testingBorescope, leak tester and culture testingSmall capital items and consumables
Duodenoscope surveillanceSampling and culturing per the FDA, and the single-use capPer culture and per cap on every ERCP
Staff, training and competencyTechnicians trained on each scope family, with documentationSalary and training time

What the published studies say, as comparison figures only: a 2017 pilot that timed technicians following the current guidelines found reprocessing one flexible endoscope took about 76 minutes of hands-on time and cost $114.07 to $280.71 per scope; a 2021 study at two US institutions put a high-level disinfection cycle at $80.47 and ethylene oxide sterilization at $296.49 per cycle; and the 2019 colonoscopy study found supplies and labor of $32.39 per procedure at a high-volume unit. The equipment behind it is capital: an automated endoscope reprocessor, usually two per unit, estimated at $30,000 to $60,000 each, comparison only, plus the drying cabinet and the borescope.

Repair and Service

Endoscope Repair and Service Cost

Endoscope repair is the second running cost, and the one that decides whether a cheap scope was cheap. A flexible scope is damaged by bites, by over-angulation, by accessories pushed through a bent channel and by reprocessing itself, and in published studies a colonoscope is repaired about three times a year. The table sets out the lines in words; Medical Outfitters quotes repairs and service contracts per scope and per fleet, and prints no repair price here.

LineWhat it coversHow it is priced
Minor repairValves, buttons, bending rubber, a small insertion tube repairPer repair, the lowest tier of a repair schedule
Major repairBending section, insertion tube, channel, image sensor or light guidePer repair, the top tier; it can approach the price of a refurbished scope
Loaner scopeA scope that keeps the schedule running during a repairInside some contracts; otherwise rented per week
Preventive maintenanceInspection, leak test, angulation check and adjustments on a schedulePer visit or inside a contract
Full-coverage service contractMaintenance, repairs, loaners and the processor, with exclusions listedPer year as a percentage of equipment value; an industry rule of thumb is 8 to 12 percent of the purchase price, estimated, comparison only
Processor and light source serviceBoard repairs, LED or lamp module, software updatesPer repair or inside the contract
Scope exchange or fleet programA fixed number of repairs or exchanges a yearPer scope per year, quoted per fleet

Published figures, comparison only: the 2019 colonoscopy study put repair at $68.77 to $206.32 per procedure, or $8,609.94 a year per colonoscope; a 2020 review of bronchoscope studies averaged repair at $107 per procedure; and a 2024 study of pediatric bronchoscopes found a 0.678 percent failure rate per reprocessing but an average repair cost of $7,246.60 per failure. Handle and reprocess carefully, and buy the service contract that names the loaner. Service coverage from Medical Outfitters is not conditional on having bought the equipment from us.

AI and Consumables

AI, Accessories and Consumables: CAD EYE, Stents, Injection Agents and Markers

The last lines of an endoscopy budget are the AI and the consumables, which Medical Outfitters quotes beside the hardware.

  • Fujifilm CAD EYE. Real-time AI polyp detection and characterization for colonoscopy on the ELUXEO system: the EX-1 expansion unit with the EW10-EC02 software, for the VP-7000 and EP-6000 processors and the 700 series colonoscopes, detecting in white light and LCI and characterizing with BLI. Fujifilm announced its FDA 510(k) clearance in March 2024 and reports 17 percent more adenomas per colonoscopy than high-definition conventional colonoscopy in its validation study. Quoted on request.
  • ELLA-CS gastrointestinal stents. Esophageal, biliary and colorectal stents, including the biodegradable BD Stent that holds its radial force for at least 8 weeks and degrades fully in 12 weeks, the DANIS Stent for variceal bleeding and the NITINELLA PLUS biliary stent. Quoted per stent and delivery system.
  • Blue Eye submucosal injection agent. A ready-to-use hyaluronic acid lifting agent with methylene blue, in boxes of ten 5 mL units. Quoted per box.
  • Black Eye endoscopic marker. A pre-filled 5 mL sterile syringe of tattoo ink for marking lesions in the GI tract. Quoted each or per dispenser box.
  • Valves, caps and brushes. Consumables on every procedure day; a first-year supply belongs in the equipment quote.

The AI solutions category holds CAD EYE beside the radiology AI platforms; each of these lines is quoted per item.

Decision

How to Choose Endoscopy Equipment

Five questions settle an endoscopy equipment purchase.

  • Which procedures, and how many? Standard and therapeutic bronchoscopes for a pulmonology room, EBUS if the program stages lung cancer, a gastroscope and colonoscope pair for GI, a duodenoscope only for an ERCP service. The volume decides reusable against single-use.
  • Which processor? Buy the processor first and match the scopes to it: the ELUXEO 7000 for full HD with LCI and BLI, the ELUXEO 8000 for 4K with the same scopes, or an HD set sourced refurbished on request where the scopes already exist.
  • New or refurbished? The Fujifilm scopes and processors new, quoted on request, for a program that will run them for years with a service plan; scopes and towers sourced refurbished on request where a current HD generation at a third to a half of the new estimate does the work and passes the leak test, the angulation check and the processor match.
  • What does the reprocessing room need? Two automated reprocessors, a drying cabinet, a leak tester, a borescope and trained technicians; a site without them is a single-use site.
  • What completes the room? A 4K surgical monitor, a recording unit, CAD EYE if the program wants AI detection, and the first year of consumables. The radiology equipment cost table prices the imaging beside an endoscopy suite, and the C-arm machine cost guide covers the fluoroscopy an ERCP room needs.

Tell us the procedures you run, the room you have and the processor you own, and we will quote the Fujifilm scopes and processors new, or a scope or tower sourced refurbished on request, with delivery, set-up, applications training and a service plan in every quote, across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
