Published 28 October 2026. Prices are Medical Outfitters ranges for a system delivered, installed and warrantied, quoted individually for every site, and they are the Siemens rows of our CT scanner cost guide as updated on 19 October 2026. Platform facts are Siemens Healthineers’ published product information as recorded on our CT scanner brands comparison; the configuration of a specific unit is confirmed from its system data before we quote. Written by the Medical Outfitters sales and field engineering team.
A Siemens CT scanner costs $95,000 to $185,000 refurbished at 16 to 32 slices, $185,000 to $300,000 at 64 slices, $350,000 to $625,000 at 128 slices and $750,000 to $1,400,000 for the dual-source Force, delivered, installed and warrantied. Refurbished, that is a SOMATOM Emotion 16 at the bottom of the 16 to 32-slice band, a SOMATOM Scope or go.Now at the top of it, a Definition AS in the lower half of the 64-slice band, a Definition AS 128 and a go.Top across the 128-slice band and a Force in the premium class. The Scope is rebuilt through MO Select, our in-house refurbishment program; every other Siemens platform is sourced refurbished on request and quoted to the same standard. Medical Outfitters does not sell Siemens CT scanners new and does not source them new; every Siemens CT we supply is pre-owned, and the new figures on this page are estimates printed for comparison. These are the Siemens rows of our CT scanner cost guide, gathered on one page.
Siemens Healthineers has a complete CT line from 16 slices to the photon-counting NAEOTOM Alpha, and its reputation rests on dose reduction, its tin-filter technology for low-dose chest and pediatric imaging and the speed of its dual-source scanners for cardiac work. On the used market the Siemens story is the legacy line: the 16-slice Scope and Emotion, the Definition AS family from 64 to 128 slices and the dual-source Definition Flash and Force, sold in large numbers to hospitals now upgrading to the current SOMATOM go and X. platforms. That is why a Siemens CT price is mostly a question of slice class, tube condition and generation, and why the refurbished supply is deepest where the installed base is largest. This guide covers what a Siemens CT scanner costs by slice class, by model, by generation and by configuration, what MO Select includes, what a new Siemens costs, how Siemens compares with GE, Philips, Canon and Fujifilm, what the room and the tube add, and which Siemens CT to buy.

How Much Does a Siemens CT Scanner Cost?
A Siemens CT scanner price is set by slice class first and generation second, because a 16-slice Scope and a 128-slice go.Top are three price classes apart before the badge is considered, and inside a class the tube, the software licenses and the support horizon move a quote more than the model name does. The figures are Medical Outfitters ranges for a system delivered, installed and warrantied; a refurbished Siemens saves 40 to 60 percent against the new system in the same class.
| Siemens CT | Medical Outfitters range, all-in | Platforms | How Medical Outfitters supplies it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siemens 16 to 32-slice, refurbished | $95,000 to $185,000 | SOMATOM Scope (16), SOMATOM Emotion 16, SOMATOM go.Now (32) | Scope through MO Select; Emotion 16 and go.Now sourced refurbished on request |
| Siemens 64-slice, refurbished | $185,000 to $300,000 | SOMATOM Definition AS (64) | Sourced refurbished on request |
| Siemens 128-slice, refurbished | $350,000 to $625,000 | SOMATOM Definition AS+ (Definition AS 128), SOMATOM go.Top (128) | Sourced refurbished on request |
| Siemens 256-slice and higher, refurbished | $750,000 to $1,400,000 | SOMATOM Force (dual source) | Sourced refurbished on request |
| Siemens, new | Estimates for comparison: $350,000 to $525,000 (go.Now class), $1,050,000 to $1,650,000 (go.Top class), $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up (Force class); no Siemens 64-slice estimate is published, and the 64-slice class runs $625,000 to $975,000 new on the CT guide | SOMATOM go.Now, go.Up, go.All and go.Top; X.cite and X.ceed; Drive, Pro.Pulse and Force; NAEOTOM Alpha | Not sold or sourced new by Medical Outfitters; estimates for comparison only |
Siemens CT scanner cost in 2026, Medical Outfitters all-in ranges, the Siemens rows of the CT scanner cost guide’s price list gathered by slice class; the new row is an estimate of current list pricing printed for comparison, not a Medical Outfitters offer.
The same question arrives as Siemens CT scanner price, Siemens CT scanner cost, Siemens CT machine price, Siemens CT price and Siemens SOMATOM price, and the table answers all of them. Searches for a Siemens CT scanner for sale or a used Siemens CT scanner land on the refurbished rows, which is the only way Medical Outfitters supplies Siemens CT; our current units are in the CT scanners for sale category, and a Siemens platform not in stock is sourced and rebuilt to order. A Siemens figure quoted without delivery, installation and a warranty is an equipment-only price, and a figure quoted without the tube’s scan-second count and the license list is not a usable number at all.
Equipment-only prices vs the all-in Siemens CT scanner price
Most Siemens CT prices published online are equipment-only figures for a gantry on a loading dock, which is why they read lower than a delivered, installed and warrantied system. The comparison below, from our CT guide, puts the two side by side for the four slice classes Siemens sells into; column A is a comparison estimate, not a Medical Outfitters price.
| Slice class | A. Typical equipment-only range (comparison estimate) | B. Medical Outfitters all-in band, refurbished | C. What the difference buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 to 32-slice | $70,000 to $130,000 | $85,000 to $185,000 (the Siemens systems $95,000 to $185,000) | Freight, rigging into the room, installation and calibration by Medical Outfitters crews, image-quality testing, applications training, a written parts and labor warranty, current tariffs, and a quote that states tube condition and which software licenses transfer |
| 64-slice | $120,000 to $225,000 | $175,000 to $375,000 (the Definition AS $185,000 to $300,000) | Same scope; the quote states which cardiac and dose-reduction licenses are included |
| 128-slice | $200,000 to $400,000 | $350,000 to $625,000 (the Definition AS 128 and go.Top span the band) | Same scope; the quote states the console generation and reconstruction licenses included |
| 256-slice and higher | $300,000 to $850,000 | $625,000 to $1,500,000 (the Force $750,000 to $1,400,000) | Same scope; wide-detector and dual-source systems are rigged and powered as a project and the quote states the site work |
Averages hide the class split. Across the Siemens systems we quote, a 16-slice averages in the upper half of its band delivered and installed because the Scope outsells the Emotion, and a 64-slice Definition AS averages in the lower half of the 64-slice band because it is a legacy platform on a deep used market. An average Siemens CT price quoted without the slice class and the tube count is not a usable number.
Siemens CT Scanner Price by Model (2026): SOMATOM Scope, Emotion, Definition AS, go.Top and Force
The Siemens CT scanner price list below places the seven Siemens platforms we sell or source inside the bands above. The SOMATOM Scope is rebuilt through MO Select, tested against the Siemens specification, delivered and installed by our own crews and covered by a written warranty with the tube terms stated; the Emotion 16, go.Now, Definition AS, Definition AS 128, go.Top and Force are sourced refurbished on request and quoted the same way. Each row’s new figure is an estimated list price for Siemens’ current platform in that class, printed for comparison only; a legacy platform carries no new figure.
| Model | Class and platform | Refurbished, all-in | New | More |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Siemens SOMATOM Scope (16-slice) | 16-slice compact platform built for smaller rooms and modest power; the Siemens 16-slice value class | $125,000 to $185,000, MO Select refurbished | Not sold new | Product page, CT guide row |
| Siemens SOMATOM Emotion 16 | 16-slice legacy platform; the 16-slice value class alongside the Scope | $95,000 to $150,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
| Siemens SOMATOM go.Now (32-slice) | 32-slice; the entry system of the current SOMATOM go platform | $145,000 to $185,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new by Medical Outfitters; estimated at $350,000 to $525,000, comparison only | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
| Siemens SOMATOM Definition AS (64-slice) | 64-slice; the Definition AS family spans 20 to 128 slices and was sold in large numbers | $185,000 to $300,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new; a legacy platform, no estimate published | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
| Siemens SOMATOM Definition AS+ (Definition AS 128) | 128-slice; the top of the Definition AS family | $350,000 to $450,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new; a legacy platform, no estimate published | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
| Siemens SOMATOM go.Top (128-slice) | 128-slice; the top of the current SOMATOM go platform | $450,000 to $625,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new by Medical Outfitters; estimated at $1,050,000 to $1,650,000, comparison only | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
| Siemens SOMATOM Force (dual source) | Dual-source premium platform; the 256-slice and higher class | $750,000 to $1,400,000, sourced refurbished on request | Not sold new by Medical Outfitters; estimated at $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up, comparison only | CT guide row, CT scanners for sale |
Siemens CT scanner price by model, Medical Outfitters ranges delivered, installed and warrantied; the rows are the Siemens rows of the CT guide’s price list.

Three notes on the rows. A Siemens SOMATOM Scope price turns on the tube first, because the Scope is bought for routine head, spine, chest, abdomen and orthopedic work where the scanner runs all day, and a unit with a fresh tube reserve, the dose-reduction software and documented service takes the top of its band; the SOMATOM Emotion 16 price sits below it because the Emotion is the older 16-slice platform, and a SOMATOM go.Now in the same class prices at the top because it is a current platform with newer software. A SOMATOM Definition AS price is the Siemens answer to a GE Optima CT660 price: the 64-slice Definition AS is the Siemens system most common on the used market and the quote follows the tube count, the cardiac and dual-energy licenses and the console generation, with the 128-slice Definition AS one class up. A SOMATOM go.Top price and a Siemens SOMATOM Force price are hospital figures: the go.Top is the current 128-slice platform at the top of its band, and the Force is the dual-source scanner whose tube pair, packages and site work put it in the premium class.
Siemens CT Price by Generation: Scope and Emotion, Definition AS, SOMATOM go, Dual Source
Siemens’ CT history on the used market divides into four groups, and the price follows them: the 16-slice legacy platforms, the Definition AS family, the current SOMATOM go platform and the dual-source and premium systems.
| Generation | Platforms | Medical Outfitters range, all-in | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16-slice legacy platforms | SOMATOM Emotion 16, SOMATOM Scope | $95,000 to $185,000 (Emotion 16 $95,000 to $150,000, sourced; Scope $125,000 to $185,000, MO Select) | The Siemens 16-slice value class; the Scope is the platform we rebuild through MO Select and the Siemens CT most often quoted for outpatient work |
| Definition AS family, 64 to 128 slices | SOMATOM Definition AS (64), Definition AS+ (Definition AS 128); the Definition Edge and the dual-source Definition Flash sit beside them | $185,000 to $450,000 (AS 64 $185,000 to $300,000; AS 128 $350,000 to $450,000), sourced refurbished on request | Legacy platforms sold in large numbers to hospitals now upgrading; the deepest Siemens refurbished supply at 64 and 128 slices |
| Current SOMATOM go platform | go.Now (32), go.Up, go.All (64), go.Top (128); go.Sim for radiation therapy | $145,000 to $185,000 (go.Now) and $450,000 to $625,000 (go.Top), sourced refurbished on request; go.Up and go.All quoted per unit | Current platforms with newer software; they command a premium on the used market and are not sold new by Medical Outfitters |
| Dual-source and premium platforms | Definition Flash, SOMATOM Force, SOMATOM Drive, Pro.Pulse; X.cite and X.ceed; NAEOTOM Alpha (photon counting) | $750,000 to $1,400,000 (Force), sourced refurbished on request; the others quoted per unit | Hospital purchases with the throughput and the cardiac, stroke and perfusion caseload to carry them; the Force is the one priced on the CT guide |
Two cautions carry across every generation. On a legacy platform (Emotion 16, Scope, Definition AS) the questions are the tube and the software: Siemens counts tube life in scan seconds, the console runs an operating system the hospital’s IT department will accept for only so long, and a scanner that does not meet the NEMA XR-29 dose standard carries a Medicare payment reduction on applicable exams, so the tube count, the software level and the XR-29 status are asked for in writing before the price is agreed. On a current go platform the question is the licensed packages, which are tied to the scanner’s serial number and do not always transfer with a used system. The used CT scanner buying guide covers all of it, tube ratings included, and our guide to CT scanner types by slice count places each Siemens platform in its tier.
Siemens CT Price by Configuration: Tube, Licenses, Console and Software
A Siemens quote is described by four things, and the table below is how the used market labels them: the tube and its scan-second count, the licensed packages, the console generation and its software, and the detector’s condition. The ranges place each configuration inside its live band.
| Configuration | Where it lands | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| SOMATOM Scope with the existing tube and the base software | Bottom of the $125,000 to $185,000 band | A tested 16-slice system for routine head, spine, chest, abdomen and orthopedic work; the tube's scan-second count is stated on the quote |
| SOMATOM Scope with a new or low-count tube, iterative dose reduction and the full license set | Top of the $125,000 to $185,000 band | The configuration most outpatient buyers want: a fresh tube reserve, the dose-reduction software and documented service |
| SOMATOM Emotion 16 or go.Now in the standard configuration | Across their bands: $95,000 to $150,000 and $145,000 to $185,000 | The Emotion is the legacy value entry; the go.Now is a current 32-slice platform whose newer software takes it to the top of the 16 to 32-slice class |
| Definition AS 64 with the standard license set | Across the $185,000 to $300,000 band | The Siemens 64-slice most common on the used market; the tube count, the cardiac and dual-energy licenses and the console generation place it inside the band |
| Definition AS 128 with the cardiac and dual-energy packages | Across the $350,000 to $450,000 band | The 128-slice Definition AS; the licensed packages and the tube move the quote inside the band |
| go.Top with the current software and the full license set | Across the $450,000 to $625,000 band | The current 128-slice platform; a documented tube and the complete package list take the top of the band |
| SOMATOM Force, dual source | Across the $750,000 to $1,400,000 band | The dual-source premium platform; the condition of the tube pair, the cardiac, perfusion and dual-energy packages and the site work decide where it lands |
Siemens CT price by configuration; every row sits inside its model’s band in the price list above.

The tube on a Siemens CT: scan seconds, coverage and what it costs
The X-ray tube is the most expensive consumable on any CT scanner and the single largest service event in its life, and on a Siemens it is rated in scan seconds, with the running total kept on the console. A used Siemens with a fresh tube and the same scanner near the end of its tube’s rating are not the same price, which is why every Medical Outfitters quote states the tube’s scan-second count, its installation date and the coverage terms in writing, and why a service contract with tube coverage costs more than one without. A tube replacement is priced by model and rating; our CT scanner service page explains what a tube replacement involves and the used CT scanner buying guide prints the typical end-of-life ratings for the Siemens, GE, Philips and Canon tubes.
- The tube. Ask for the scan-second count from the console, the installation date and the arc history, and compare the count with the rating of that tube model; price the tube reserve into the offer.
- Licensed packages. Cardiac gating and analysis, dual energy, iterative dose reduction, perfusion and advanced visualization are software licenses tied to the serial number, and they do not always transfer with a used system; get the license list in writing before the price is agreed.
- Console generation and operating system. A later console carries current software and an operating system the hospital’s IT department will accept; an older console on a retired operating system will scan patients but fail the network security review at most hospitals, and that is a cost line before the first exam.
- Detector condition. A calibrated detector with no dead channels is priced differently from one needing repair; the image-quality test on the day of survey decides.
- XR-29. A scanner that does not meet the NEMA XR-29 dose-optimization standard carries a 15 percent Medicare payment reduction on applicable exams; confirm the status on the unit, because an older Emotion or Definition AS may need the upgrade.
- Cooling and the room. Many 64-slice and higher platforms are water-cooled and need a chiller loop an older building may not have, and a 128-slice gantry draws more power and rejects more heat than a 16-slice; the Scope was built for compact rooms and modest power, which is part of why it is the Siemens CT most outpatient sites buy.
MO Select Refurbished Siemens CT: What Is Included
MO Select is the Medical Outfitters line of certified pre-owned imaging systems, and GE and Siemens are the two makes we rebuild through it, because their installed bases keep parts plentiful and engineers familiar. On the Siemens CT side the MO Select platform is the SOMATOM Scope: a system carries the badge only after our own engineers have rebuilt it and tested it against the manufacturer specification, and the quote states the scope in writing, so there is no guessing about what arrives on the truck. The Emotion 16, go.Now, Definition AS, go.Top and Force are sourced refurbished on request for the slice class, the licenses and the tube reserve a buyer names, and quoted the same way.
- The system, tested to specification: the tube’s scan-second count and the detector checked, wear parts renewed, the generator and the gantry tested, calibration run, the image-quality test documented, the software level and the licensed packages confirmed on the unit.
- Delivery, rigging and installation by our own crews across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, with the route, the floor loading and the room surveyed before anything ships; how a CT scanner is moved lays out the sequence, and our installation and rigging service covers the project side.
- Applications training and a written parts and labor warranty with the tube terms stated, and a service plan offered in the same quote through the engineers who rebuilt the platform, backed by more than 20,000 parts in stock in Miami.
- Sourced on request, quoted the same way: any pre-owned Siemens configuration not in stock, from an Emotion 16 to a Force, is found, tested, delivered, installed and warrantied by Medical Outfitters; stock rotates, so ask for units in progress.
The refurbished imaging equipment page explains what every MO Select system includes, and refurbished versus OEM certified explains how an MO Select rebuild differs from a manufacturer-refurbished unit; the current Scope listing is on its product page. If you are replacing rather than adding, we also buy used imaging equipment.
New Siemens CT Scanner Price: SOMATOM go, X., Drive, Force and NAEOTOM Alpha
Medical Outfitters does not sell Siemens CT scanners new and does not source them new; our new-equipment range is Fujifilm, and every Siemens CT we supply is pre-owned, refurbished through MO Select or sourced refurbished on request. The new bands on this page are estimates of current list pricing, printed for comparison only: $350,000 to $525,000 for the 16 to 32-slice class, $1,050,000 to $1,650,000 for the 128-slice class and $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up for the dual-source and wide-detector class, the new cells of our CT guide’s Siemens rows; no Siemens 64-slice estimate is published, and the 64-slice class runs $625,000 to $975,000 new on the guide.
- SOMATOM go.Now, go.Up, go.All and go.Top. The current platform from 32 to 128 slices, with the go.Sim radiation-therapy version; the go.Now is estimated at $350,000 to $525,000 new and the go.Top at $1,050,000 to $1,650,000. Refurbished go.Now and go.Top units are sourced on request at $145,000 to $185,000 and $450,000 to $625,000, and they command a premium over the Definition AS for their newer software.
- X.cite and X.ceed. The X. platform at 64 and 128 slices; pre-owned units are quoted per unit, and few circulate.
- SOMATOM Drive, Pro.Pulse and Force. The dual-source line; the Force is estimated at $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up new and sourced refurbished at $750,000 to $1,400,000, and the Drive and Pro.Pulse are quoted per unit.
- NAEOTOM Alpha. Siemens’ photon-counting scanner, a premium new-system purchase and not part of the refurbished market; no Medical Outfitters figure is published for it.
- The alternatives sold new: as an authorized Fujifilm dealer Medical Outfitters sells the Supria 64 and Supria 128 at $625,000 to $825,000 and $1,050,000 to $1,350,000, the SCENARIA View and SCENARIA View Focus Edition at $500,000 to $900,000 in the 128-slice configuration (the 64-slice configuration quoted per configuration) and the FCT iStream 128 at $365,000 to $600,000, each with the manufacturer warranty; the Supria 32 is sold for veterinary practices in the United States. They are priced on the CT guide’s price list.

Siemens vs GE, Philips, Canon and Fujifilm CT Scanner Price
Brand moves a CT quote less than slice class does: a refurbished 64-slice Siemens and a refurbished 64-slice GE sit in the same $175,000 to $375,000 band, and what separates them is the tube, the software licenses, the support horizon and how the specific unit was rebuilt. The table places each Siemens class against its GE, Philips, Canon and Fujifilm equivalents, from the CT guide’s price list.
| Slice class | Siemens | GE HealthCare | Philips and Canon (sourced refurbished on request) | Fujifilm (sold new by Medical Outfitters) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16 to 32-slice | SOMATOM Scope: $125,000 to $185,000 (MO Select); Emotion 16: $95,000 to $150,000; go.Now: $145,000 to $185,000 | BrightSpeed Elite 16: $110,000 to $185,000; LightSpeed 16: $95,000 to $160,000 (MO Select) | Philips and Canon 16-slice systems quoted per unit | Supria 32 (and 16): veterinary practices only in the United States, quoted per project |
| 64-slice | Definition AS 64: $185,000 to $300,000 | Optima CT660: $225,000 to $375,000; LightSpeed VCT 64: $175,000 to $325,000; Revolution EVO: $250,000 to $375,000 (MO Select) | Philips Brilliance 64: $175,000 to $275,000; Ingenuity CT: $200,000 to $325,000; Canon Aquilion 64: $175,000 to $250,000 | SCENARIA View 64-slice configuration: quoted per configuration; Supria 64: $625,000 to $825,000 new |
| 128-slice | Definition AS 128: $350,000 to $450,000; go.Top: $450,000 to $625,000 | Revolution Maxima, Ascend and EVO 128: $350,000 to $625,000 (MO Select) | Philips Incisive CT: $400,000 to $550,000; Canon Aquilion Prime: $350,000 to $450,000; Prime SP: $400,000 to $625,000 | FCT iStream 128: $365,000 to $600,000 new; SCENARIA View 128 and Focus Edition: $500,000 to $900,000 new; Supria 128: $1,050,000 to $1,350,000 new |
| 256-slice and higher | SOMATOM Force: $750,000 to $1,400,000 | Revolution CT: $625,000 to $1,100,000; Revolution Apex: $900,000 to $1,500,000 (sourced) | Canon Aquilion ONE: $625,000 to $1,250,000 | Not offered |
Three things are specific to Siemens in that comparison. The Scope is the one Siemens CT we rebuild through MO Select, where the GE BrightSpeed, LightSpeed and Optima CT660 are all MO Select platforms, so a GE 64-slice quote usually draws on systems we hold and a Siemens Definition AS quote on a unit sourced for the buyer. Siemens counts tube life in scan seconds, and the count on the day of survey is the first number on any Siemens quote. And the current SOMATOM go platform commands a premium on the used market for its newer software, where the GE and Canon used markets are built on the previous generation. On image quality every brand’s flagship produces excellent images; what differs is how each maker fills the tiers below it, the cost of the tube, the depth of the refurbished market and how long the software stays supported, which is the comparison our CT scanner brands comparison carries through every class. The GE platforms are priced on their own model guides (BrightSpeed, LightSpeed, Optima CT660, Revolution) and the Canon Aquilion on its guide; Siemens MRI is priced on our Siemens MRI machine price guide and the Siemens Biograph PET/CT systems on the PET/CT scanner cost guide.
Siting and Running Cost on a Siemens CT
Every Siemens CT on this page needs the same room as any multislice scanner: a lead-shielded scan room sized for the gantry, table travel and service access, a control room with a leaded window, a physicist’s shielding design the state will accept, dedicated three-phase power, a chiller or HVAC sized for the gantry heat load and a floor that carries the gantry. The Scope was designed for compact rooms and modest power, which is why it often fits where a larger CT will not; a Definition AS, a go.Top or a Force is a larger project, and many 64-slice and higher platforms are water-cooled. We survey the room before anything ships, and the siting section of our CT guide covers shielding, power, cooling, floor loading, delivery and the accreditation and XR-29 compliance a site has to budget for.

Running cost follows the tube. A service contract priced per year as a percentage of system value, with or without the tube and with or without parts; the tube itself, rated in scan seconds and replaced as the single largest service event in the scanner’s life; power and cooling; contrast and the injector; and the technologist, the physicist survey and the daily quality checks that keep the site accredited. Over a decade the running cost of a scanner can approach its purchase price, which is why the service quote belongs in the buying decision rather than after it. Our CT scanner service, repair and maintenance page explains how a contract is priced, what a preventive maintenance visit covers and what a tube replacement involves, and the payback section of the CT guide shows how many exams recover the purchase.
Which Siemens CT Scanner Should You Buy?
Five questions settle which Siemens CT scanner to buy.
- Which slice class? A 16-slice Scope for routine head, chest, abdomen, spine and extremity CT in a clinic, urgent care or lower-volume site that does not need cardiac work; a 64-slice Definition AS for the hospital and imaging-center workload, where coronary CT angiography and calcium scoring begin; a 128-slice Definition AS or go.Top for high throughput and advanced cardiac and low-dose protocols; the Force only when whole-organ and dual-source work justifies a premium hospital purchase. The slice-count guide and the CT guide’s buying section cover the case mix.
- Which generation? The Scope when budget leads and the room is small, because it is the platform we hold and rebuild; the Definition AS when a 64 or 128-slice Siemens is wanted at the deepest refurbished supply; the go.Now or go.Top when the support horizon and the newer software matter and the premium is acceptable.
- Which configuration? Price the tube’s scan-second count, the license list and the console generation, not the gantry: a Definition AS with a fresh tube, the cardiac and dual-energy licenses and a current console and the same scanner with a tired tube and the base software are a tier apart.
- What does the survey say? On any used Siemens: the tube count, date and arc history, the detector’s image-quality test, the software level, the operating system and the XR-29 status, which licenses transfer, the service history and the cooling the room can support. The used imaging equipment inspection checklist covers the rest.
- New or refurbished? A refurbished Siemens saves 40 to 60 percent against the new system in its class; where a site wants a new 64 or 128-slice scanner with a manufacturer warranty, the Fujifilm Supria, SCENARIA View and FCT iStream are the systems we sell new, and the new versus refurbished section of the CT guide weighs the two.
Tell us what you scan and the room you have, and we will recommend two or three Siemens systems at the right tier with delivery, installation and a service plan in the quote, or tell you where a GE or Fujifilm system does the same work for less. Current units are in the CT scanners for sale category and on our Florida equipment page.
Siemens CT Scanner Price: Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does a Siemens CT scanner cost?
- A Siemens CT scanner costs $95,000 to $185,000 refurbished at 16 to 32 slices, $185,000 to $300,000 at 64 slices, $350,000 to $625,000 at 128 slices and $750,000 to $1,400,000 for the dual-source Force, delivered, installed and warrantied by Medical Outfitters: the SOMATOM Scope at $125,000 to $185,000 through MO Select, and the Emotion 16 at $95,000 to $150,000, the go.Now at $145,000 to $185,000, the Definition AS at $185,000 to $300,000, the Definition AS 128 at $350,000 to $450,000, the go.Top at $450,000 to $625,000 and the Force at $750,000 to $1,400,000 sourced refurbished on request. Medical Outfitters does not sell Siemens CT new; the current platforms are estimated at $350,000 to $2,900,000 and up by class, comparison only.
- How much does a Siemens SOMATOM Scope cost?
- A Siemens SOMATOM Scope price is $125,000 to $185,000 refurbished through MO Select, delivered, installed and warrantied with the tube terms stated: the existing tube and the base software at the bottom of the band, a new or low-count tube with the dose-reduction software and documented service at the top. It is the compact 16-slice platform built for smaller rooms and modest power, the Siemens CT we rebuild ourselves and the one most outpatient sites buy.
- What is the SOMATOM Emotion 16 price?
- A SOMATOM Emotion 16 price is $95,000 to $150,000 sourced refurbished on request, delivered, installed and warrantied. It is the older 16-slice Siemens platform and the value entry to a Siemens CT, priced below the Scope; the tube's scan-second count, the software level and the XR-29 status decide whether a given unit is a good buy.
- How much does a Siemens Definition AS cost?
- A SOMATOM Definition AS price is $185,000 to $300,000 refurbished for the 64-slice system and $350,000 to $450,000 for the 128-slice Definition AS+, sourced refurbished on request, delivered, installed and warrantied. The Definition AS family was sold in large numbers to hospitals now upgrading, so it is the Siemens CT with the deepest refurbished supply at 64 and 128 slices; the tube count, the cardiac and dual-energy licenses and the console generation place a unit inside its band. It is a legacy platform, so no new figure is published.
- What is the SOMATOM go.Top price?
- A SOMATOM go.Top price is $450,000 to $625,000 sourced refurbished on request, delivered, installed and warrantied; it is the current 128-slice Siemens platform and commands a premium over the Definition AS 128 for its newer software. New, the go.Top is estimated at $1,050,000 to $1,650,000, comparison only, and the entry go.Now at $350,000 to $525,000; a refurbished go.Now is $145,000 to $185,000. Neither is sold new by Medical Outfitters.
- How much does a Siemens SOMATOM Force cost?
- A Siemens SOMATOM Force price is $750,000 to $1,400,000 sourced refurbished on request, delivered, installed and warrantied, the 256-slice and higher class on our CT guide; new, the Force class is estimated at $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up, comparison only, and it is not sold new by Medical Outfitters. It is a hospital purchase with the throughput and the cardiac, stroke and perfusion caseload to carry it, not a first scanner for an outpatient center, and its dual-source tube pair and site work are quoted as a project.
- How much does a new Siemens CT scanner cost?
- Medical Outfitters does not sell Siemens CT scanners new and does not source them new; every Siemens CT we supply is pre-owned, refurbished through MO Select or sourced refurbished on request. For comparison, the current platforms are estimated at $350,000 to $525,000 for the go.Now class, $1,050,000 to $1,650,000 for the go.Top class and $1,750,000 to $2,900,000 and up for the Force class, the new cells of our CT guide's Siemens rows. The scanners we sell new are the Fujifilm Supria 64 and 128, SCENARIA View and FCT iStream 128, at $365,000 to $1,350,000 by model.
- Does Medical Outfitters sell Siemens CT scanners?
- Yes, refurbished: the SOMATOM Scope rebuilt through MO Select, our in-house refurbishment program, and the Emotion 16, go.Now, Definition AS, Definition AS 128, go.Top and Force sourced refurbished on request, each tested against the manufacturer specification, delivered, installed and warrantied across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. We do not sell or source Siemens CT scanners new. We service Siemens scanners whether or not they came from us, with the engineers who rebuild our MO Select systems.
- Which Siemens CT scanner is the cheapest?
- A refurbished SOMATOM Emotion 16 at $95,000, the bottom of the Siemens 16 to 32-slice band, sourced refurbished on request, delivered, installed and warrantied; the SOMATOM Scope, the platform we rebuild through MO Select, starts at $125,000. At 64 slices the cheapest Siemens is a Definition AS at $185,000, and at 128 slices a Definition AS 128 at $350,000.
- Is a used Siemens CT scanner a good buy?
- Usually, which is why Siemens is one of the two makes we refurbish through MO Select: the Scope, Emotion and Definition AS were sold in large numbers, so refurbished units, tubes and parts are widely available and independent engineers know them well. The checks are the tube's scan-second count, installation date and arc history, the detector's image-quality test, the software level and operating system, the XR-29 status, which licenses transfer, the service history and whether the room can cool the platform; a legacy platform prices at the bottom of its band because its support horizon is shorter.
- How is a Siemens CT tube rated, and what does a replacement cost?
- Siemens rates its CT tubes in scan seconds, and the console keeps the running total, so the count on the day of survey is the first number on any used Siemens quote. The tube is the most expensive consumable on the scanner and the single largest service event in its life; a replacement is priced by model and rating and quoted with the engineer, the calibration and the coverage terms, which is why a service contract with tube coverage costs more than one without. Our CT scanner service page explains what a replacement involves and the used CT scanner buying guide prints the typical end-of-life ratings.
- Where can I find a Siemens CT scanner for sale?
- Our current units are in the CT scanners for sale category and on our Florida equipment page: the SOMATOM Scope refurbished through MO Select, and the Emotion 16, go.Now, Definition AS, go.Top and Force sourced refurbished on request, each delivered, installed and warrantied. Stock rotates as systems are sourced and rebuilt; if you are looking for a used Siemens CT scanner in a particular slice class or configuration, tell us what you scan and the room you have and we will find it.
